HORSE HAIR POTTERY
Horse Hair Pottery is made by using the hair from the Tail and Mane of a Horse. It is fired on the pottery using a special technique. The process is very hazardous and time consuming. Fine lines are created using the hair of the Mane of the Horse. Thick lines are created using the hair of the Tail of the Horse. After the pot is fired, it is polished with a smooth river rock. No paint or glaze is used in the finish of the pot. When firing and polishing are completed, deer or elk hide, stones or paintings may be applied to the pot. Every pot is original and hand made. The designs are all unique and have wonderful contrasting colors and styles. Bring pride in the Native American Spirit into your home by displaying one of these beautiful Native American Indian pieces of pottery!
